It's official.............

We have another nut on the family tree! We completed the adoption paperwork this morning to welcome Bethany Marie AiSheng Waala to our family. We were up early again (around 4am--thanks to my sister Lynn for getting me on that schedule). The breakfast buffet doesn't start until 6:30 so we hung out in the room for a while. Around 8:45 we got a call from our guide that she was in the lobby. We met her downstairs and off we went. Once we got to the Civil Affairs office, she had me start signing everything. I had to put a red thumbprint over each signature. Bethany had to put her hand print on one of the documents too. The orphanage director was caught in traffic so we spent about an hour waiting for him to arrive. While we waited, our guide brought us several photo albums of other adoptive families to look at. Bethany recognized about 4 other kids from her orphanage who have been blessed with forever families. We decided to go to the hotel restaurant for lunch. The menu was in Chinese with English translations. Interesting to say the least. The food was wonderful! we had no idea what portion sizes would be like, as the wait staff did not speak any English, so we just picked out 4 items. It was more than enough! We had dumplings, fried rice with beef, we had pan fried noodles and some sort of chicken ala orange. It reminded me of tempura but it had the most delicious orange glaze on it. Bethany can put away the food! She chowed down the noodles like nothing! After lunch, we headed back to the room for a nap. Hopefully we will be able to stay up later so we can sleep a little later than 4:00am!
